Pete Johnson
Pete Johnson was an American pianist prominent in the boogie-woogie style, associated with the Kansas City jazz scene. He was known for an energetic, percussive approach to the piano and for frequent collaborations with blues shouters such as Big Joe Turner. He helped bring boogie-woogie to wider public attention through performances in the late 1930s and later recordings. He died in 1967.
