Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys were an American band formed in 1979 and active until 2014. They began with roots in punk before developing a distinctive blend of hip hop, rock, and punk influences, often built around sample-based production, layered beats, and playful, rapped vocals. The trio of Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock became known for energetic performances and a cross-genre approach that helped bring rock and rap elements into close dialogue.
