Astrud Gilberto

Astrud Gilberto (Brazilian, died 2023) was a singer closely associated with bossa nova, noted for a soft, intimate, breathy vocal delivery and understated phrasing. She sang in both Portuguese and English and recorded and performed internationally from the 1960s onward, frequently collaborating with musicians from the bossa nova and jazz scenes and becoming one of the voices tied to the genre's global presence.
