Tom Tom Club

Tom Tom Club is an American band formed in 1981 by Talking Heads members Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. Their music blends funk, new wave, disco, and worldbeat influences into upbeat, groove-focused songs that emphasize basslines, percussion, and catchy hooks. They developed a playful, dance-oriented sound that contrasted with the more cerebral style of their other band's work and helped introduce rhythmic, club-friendly textures into early 1980s alternative pop.
