Thomas A. Dorsey

Thomas A. Dorsey was an American composer, pianist, and singer who blended blues elements with church music to help establish modern gospel. He wrote and arranged many gospel songs and influenced the prominence of piano-led accompaniment and choir-centered performance in African American worship traditions.
