The Temptations

The Temptations are an American vocal group formed in 1960 and closely associated with the Motown label and the Detroit soul sound. They are known for polished multi-part harmonies, the use of alternating lead singers including falsetto and deep bass voices, and coordinated stage choreography. Their repertoire moved from classic R&B and soul toward funkier and more socially conscious material in the late 1960s, and the group has gone through numerous lineup changes while continuing to perform within the soul and R&B tradition.
