The Robins

The Robins were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in 1945 and active through 1961. Their sound combined gospel-rooted close harmonies and doo-wop vocal arranging with rhythm-driven R&B accompaniment, placing them in the West Coast R&B scene of the late 1940s and 1950s. They are often cited as an influence on later vocal groups, and some members later helped form The Coasters.
