The Rascals

The Rascals were an American band formed in 1964 and active through 1972, known for blending rhythm and blues with rock and pop into a soulful, piano- and organ-driven sound. Their recordings emphasized strong lead and harmony vocals over a tight R&B-rooted rhythm section, and their style moved from raw, energetic R&B influences toward more polished arrangements and socially aware lyrical themes during the late 1960s. They are often cited as a prominent example of 1960s blue-eyed soul within American pop and rock.
