The Notwist

The Notwist is a German band formed in 1989 that began with a heavier punk and metal-influenced sound before evolving into a more electronic-infused indie rock style. Their music blends melodic songwriting with electronic production, sampling, and subtle glitch and ambient textures, often combining acoustic instruments and programmed elements. Core members include brothers Markus and Micha Acher and longtime collaborator Martin Gretschmann, and the band is associated with the independent European alternative scene.
