The Normal

The Normal is the solo project of British electronic musician Daniel Miller, characterized by sparse, DIY synth recordings that helped shape early minimal synth and industrial-leaning electronic music. The sound relies on simple drum machines and analog synthesizers, with stark, mechanical textures and detached vocal delivery exploring themes of technology and modern alienation. Miller went on to found Mute Records, and The Normal is associated with the late 1970s experimental British electronic scene.
