The Neptunes

The Neptunes are an American production duo consisting of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, formed in the early 1990s. They are known for a sparse, percussion-forward production style that blends hip hop, R&B, funk and electronic elements, often using clipped synths, staccato rhythms and distinctive melodic hooks. Their production work spans a wide range of artists and helped shape mainstream pop and urban production styles in the late 1990s and 2000s.
