The Moody Blues

The Moody Blues were a British rock band formed in 1964, known for blending rock with orchestral and classical elements to create a lush, atmospheric sound built around layered vocal harmonies, Mellotron and keyboard textures, and introspective, often philosophical lyrics. Their lineup evolved over time, with a classic configuration that included Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge. Over several decades they moved from early R&B influences toward more expansive, symphonic arrangements that helped define aspects of progressive and art rock.
