The Marvelettes

The Marvelettes were an American girl group formed in 1960 and active through the early 1970s, associated with the Motown label. Their sound combined pop and soul with tight vocal harmonies, youthful lead vocals, and rhythmic arrangements that fit the early Motown production style. They were one of the label's early female ensembles and helped shape the 1960s Detroit pop-soul aesthetic.
