The Marcels

The Marcels are an American vocal group formed in 1959, associated with the doo-wop and early rock and roll tradition. Their sound emphasizes tight harmonies, a prominent low bass lead voice, and playful vocal interjections and nonsense syllables that give their early 1960s recordings an energetic, upbeat character. They are often referenced as a pop-oriented example of doo-wop from that period.
