The La's

The La’s were a Liverpool band active from 1983 to 1992, led by singer-songwriter Lee Mavers. Their sound combined 1960s-influenced jangle pop and melodic guitar pop with a raw, rootsy feel, marked by chiming guitars, concise song structures, and a strong emphasis on melody and vocal phrasing. Their brief career and singular presence in the late 1980s and early 1990s left them associated with the British indie and guitar-pop traditions of that period.
