The Knife

The Knife were a Swedish electronic music duo formed in 1999 by siblings Karin Dreijer and Olof Dreijer, active until 2014. Their sound combined synth-pop and experimental electronic production with icy synth textures, propulsive yet minimal beats, and Karin Dreijer’s distinctive, often processed vocals. They were known for theatrical, visually striking performances, a deliberate use of anonymity and aliases, and engagement with political and social themes in their music.
