The Kingsmen

The Kingsmen are an American rock band formed in 1959 in Portland, Oregon. They developed a raw, energetic garage rock and beat sound marked by distorted guitars, driving drums, and raucous vocals, and are best known for their lo-fi 1963 recording of "Louie Louie," which attracted attention and controversy because of its mumbled, hard-to-understand vocals.
