The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in 1984 by brothers Jim and William Reid. Their sound blends concise pop songwriting and melodies with heavy feedback, distortion and often drum-machine rhythms, producing a noisy, atmospheric take on guitar pop. They are commonly associated with noise pop and early shoegaze movements.
