The J.B.'s

The J.B.'s are an American funk band formed in 1970 as James Brown's backing group. Their sound centers on tight, rhythmically driven grooves, syncopated guitar and bass patterns, punctuated horn arrangements, and an emphasis on percussion and interlocking rhythms. They recorded both with Brown and under their own name and are associated with the development of early 1970s funk.
