The Gun Club

The Gun Club was an American band formed in Los Angeles in 1979 and disbanded in 1996, led by singer-songwriter Jeffrey Lee Pierce. Their music combined punk rock energy with Delta blues, rockabilly, and country elements, producing a raw, noir-tinged sound marked by sparse arrangements and Pierce's distinctive vocals and lyrics. They are regarded for blending roots music and punk approaches in a way that shaped later alternative and roots-oriented artists.
