The Gap Band

The Gap Band was an American R&B and funk band formed in 1967 and centered on brothers Charlie, Ronnie, and Robert Wilson. Their sound combined funk rhythms, prominent bass and synth lines, tight horn arrangements, and soulful vocals, blending dance-oriented grooves with R&B songwriting across the 1970s and 1980s, and they continued performing and recording until disbanding in 2010.
