The Decemberists

The Decemberists are an American indie rock band formed in Portland in 2000 and led by singer-songwriter Colin Meloy. Their music blends folk and rock with chamber pop and baroque folk touches, often featuring acoustic instruments such as accordion, piano, violin and banjo and arrangements that foreground storytelling and literary themes. They are noted for theatrical, narrative songwriting and occasional concept-driven albums.
