The Damned

The Damned are a British band formed in 1976 and associated with the first wave of UK punk. Their early sound was fast and energetic punk rock, and over time they incorporated darker, gothic-tinged atmospheres and occasional psychedelic and pop elements, resulting in a varied catalog and shifting lineups centered on vocalist Dave Vanian. They are frequently noted for bridging punk aggression with more atmospheric and melodic approaches.
