The Chordettes

The Chordettes were an American female vocal quartet formed in 1946 and active through the early 1960s, known for their tight close-harmony arrangements and a sound shaped by barbershop and popular vocal styles. Their polished, blend-focused singing and a mix of a cappella and accompanied arrangements placed them within the 1950s vocal-pop scene and made them a recognizable example of the female harmony groups of that era.
