The Champs

The Champs were an American instrumental rock and pop band active from 1958 to 1965, noted for upbeat, Latin-tinged instrumentals driven by saxophone, brass, and a tight rhythm section. Their concise, danceable tracks blended rockabilly, rhythm and blues, and Latin rhythms and were often recorded by a rotating group of musicians. The band is widely associated with the 1958 instrumental "Tequila".
