The Books

The Books were an American duo formed in 1999 by Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong, active until 2012. They combined acoustic instruments and found-sound sampling to create dense, collage-like compositions that blend elements of folk, electronic, and experimental music, with meticulous editing, spoken-word and field-recorded samples, and intimate vocal passages producing a warm, layered sound.
