The Beautiful South

The Beautiful South was a British band formed in 1989 by former Housemartins members Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway, and they disbanded in 2007. They paired bright, melodic pop arrangements with darkly ironic and observational lyrics, often featuring interplay between male lead vocals and female harmonies from singers such as Briana Corrigan and Jacqui Abbott.
