The Associates

The Associates, a British band formed in 1976, blended post-punk, art pop and new wave elements into dramatic, often orchestral arrangements anchored by Billy Mackenzie's wide-ranging, theatrical vocals; their sound combined synth textures, guitar-driven atmospheres and experimental studio production.
