The Adverts

The Adverts were a late 1970s British punk rock band formed in 1976 and active through 1979. Fronted by singer and songwriter T.V. Smith with bassist Gaye Advert, they blended raw, fast punk energy with concise, melodic songcraft and direct, observational lyrics. They are associated with the first wave of UK punk and are noted for Gaye Advert's prominent image as a female musician in the scene.
