Swans

Swans is an American experimental rock band formed in 1982 by Michael Gira. Their early work emphasized abrasive, industrial-tinged noise, heavy repetition and intense dynamics; over time they moved toward more expansive, textural and sometimes melodic arrangements that often feature long, gradually unfolding compositions. With a rotating lineup that has included Jarboe among others, the band is associated with the post-punk, industrial and experimental scenes and is noted for powerful, immersive live performances.
