Steely Dan

Steely Dan is an American band formed in 1972 by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, known for blending rock, jazz, and pop influences into tightly arranged, studio-focused recordings. Their sound features sophisticated chord progressions, jazz-influenced harmony and solos, cryptic and ironic lyrics, and extensive use of seasoned session musicians to achieve a polished, meticulous production. Over time the project shifted toward a duo-led studio approach with Fagen as the principal performer in later years.
