Squeeze

Squeeze are a British band formed in London in 1974, centered on the songwriting partnership of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook. Their sound blends new wave and pop rock with strong melodic hooks, tight guitar and keyboard arrangements, and literate, narrative lyrics marked by wordplay and observational detail. Across changing lineups they became known for the interplay between Difford's lyrics and Tilbrook's melodies and for a concise, pop-oriented approach that draws on power pop and elements of post-punk.
