Soundgarden

Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in 1984 and active until 2017, associated with the Seattle grunge movement. Their music blended heavy, distorted guitar riffs and low tunings with elements of hard rock and metal, often incorporating unusual time signatures and dissonant guitar textures. Vocalist Chris Cornell was known for a wide vocal range, and guitarist Kim Thayil contributed distinctive, angular riffs. The band played a prominent role in the development of alternative rock in the late 1980s and 1990s.
