Soul Brothers Six

Soul Brothers Six were an American soul and R&B group formed in Rochester, New York, in 1965 and active through the mid 1970s. Featuring singer-songwriter John Ellison among their members, the outfit blended gospel-influenced vocal harmonies with driving rhythm-and-blues arrangements and guitar-based grooves. They recorded the original version of the song "Some Kind of Wonderful" in 1967, a composition later covered by other artists, and their recordings exemplify the raw vocal energy and classic soul sound of the late 1960s.
