Solomon Burke

Solomon Burke (1936–2010) was an American singer whose blend of gospel, rhythm and blues, and early soul showcased a rich, emotive voice and a preacherlike delivery; sometimes called the "King of Rock 'n' Soul," he is regarded as an influential figure in the development of soul music and was known for dynamic live performances and a charismatic stage presence.
