Soft Machine

Soft Machine is a British band formed in 1966 associated with the Canterbury scene. They began with a psychedelic and art-rock sound and moved toward instrumental jazz fusion and experimental progressive rock, emphasizing keyboards, saxophone, and improvisation. Through numerous lineup changes the group explored complex compositions and extended instrumental passages, helping to bridge rock and modern jazz.
