Smog

Smog is the recording name used by American singer-songwriter Bill Callahan for a project active from the early 1990s through the 2000s. Music released as Smog is generally lo-fi and folk-inflected, characterized by sparse arrangements, understated production, and Callahan's low, conversational baritone paired with literate, often introspective lyrics. Over time the project shifted from home-recorded minimalism toward more fully realized studio arrangements while maintaining a focus on mood and narrative songwriting.
