Sister Sledge

American vocal group formed in 1971, Sister Sledge is a family ensemble of sisters whose music blends R&B, soul, disco and pop, centered on polished vocal harmonies and dance-oriented arrangements. They worked with producers Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic, which helped shape a glossy, groove-driven sound in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group is known as a female vocal act associated with the disco era.
