Siouxsie and the Banshees

Siouxsie and the Banshees were an English band, formed in 1976 and active until 1996. Emerging from the post-punk scene, they combined angular guitars, prominent basslines, inventive rhythms and Siouxsie Sioux's distinctive, theatrical vocals to create dark, atmospheric music that drew on elements of punk, art rock and psychedelia. The band is associated with sounds that helped shape later alternative and gothic-leaning music.
