Silver Jews

Silver Jews were an American indie rock band formed in 1989 by songwriter David Berman, with early recordings involving Pavement members Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. Their music blended lo-fi indie rock with country and folk influences, featuring spare guitar arrangements and literate, often wry lyrics. Over a career that concluded in 2009 they shifted from rough, home-recorded textures to fuller ensemble arrangements while maintaining a strong focus on Berman's songwriting.
