Selena

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was a Mexican-American singer from Texas who performed in both Spanish and English and is closely associated with Tejano music. Her sound blended Tejano and Mexican cumbia with pop and R&B influences, and she began her career fronting a family band. She was a prominent cultural figure for many Mexican-American and Latin music audiences, pursued fashion and business interests, and died in 1995.
