Richard Hell & the Voidoids
Richard Hell & the Voidoids were an American punk band formed in 1976 and active through 1983, led by singer and bassist Richard Hell. Their sound combined raw punk energy with jagged, angular guitar work and a literate, often spoken-word influenced vocal delivery. Emerging from the 1970s New York City scene around CBGB, the group blended punk immediacy with art punk and literary sensibilities, featuring prominent bass lines and sharp guitar textures.
