Red House Painters

Red House Painters were an American band formed in 1989 by singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek. Associated with the slowcore and indie folk strands of 1990s alternative music, they were known for slow tempos, sparse and atmospheric arrangements, melancholic and introspective lyrics, and Kozelek’s intimate, plaintive vocal delivery. The band recorded and performed through the 1990s and disbanded in 2001.
