Ray Charles

Ray Charles was an American pianist, singer, and composer whose work blended gospel, rhythm and blues, jazz, country, and blues, and helped shape the development of soul music. Blind from childhood, he was known for his expressive vocal delivery, distinctive piano playing, and arrangements that brought secular and gospel elements together across multiple genres. He died in 2004.
