Ramones

The Ramones were an American punk rock band from New York City active from 1974 to 1996. Their music was characterized by fast, short, stripped-down songs built on simple chord progressions, propulsive rhythms, and direct, often playful lyrics. With a high-energy, minimalist sound and a consistent stage persona and look, they are considered a formative influence on the development of punk rock and on many later punk and alternative bands.
