R.E.M.
R.E.M. was an American rock band formed in 1980 and active until 2011, known for a jangly, guitar-driven sound, melodic basslines, and distinctive, often cryptic vocals. The group's blend of chiming guitars, rhythmic bass and attentive songwriting was associated with college rock and the rise of alternative rock, and their core lineup included Michael Stipe on vocals, Peter Buck on guitar, Mike Mills on bass and backing vocals, and Bill Berry on drums for much of their career.
