Pete Seeger

Pete Seeger was an American folk singer, banjo player, and social activist known for promoting traditional and topical songs arranged for community singing. He favored simple acoustic arrangements that emphasized lyrics and collective participation, and he used music in support of labor, civil rights, and environmental causes. He was a prominent figure in the 20th-century American folk revival and died in 2014.
