Pérez Prado

Pérez Prado (Dámaso Pérez Prado) was a Cuban bandleader, pianist, arranger, and composer closely associated with the mambo; his brass-heavy, rhythm-driven big band arrangements emphasized syncopated horn riffs and punchy percussion and were crafted for dancing. He was active in the mid-20th century and died in 1989.
