Patti Smith Group

Patti Smith Group is an American rock band formed in the mid-1970s and led by poet-singer Patti Smith. Their music blends punk energy, garage rock and art rock with spoken-word and literary-influenced lyrics, delivered in a raw, guitar-driven style. Associated with the New York punk scene, the group included guitarist Lenny Kaye and released early work such as the 1975 album Horses, which combined poetry and rock and highlighted Smith's intense vocal delivery.
