Patsy Cline

Patsy Cline (died 1963) was an American country singer noted for a warm, richly expressive contralto and smooth, emotive phrasing. Working within the Nashville sound tradition, she blended country instrumentation with pop-oriented arrangements and was closely associated with ballads and pop-tinged country material. Cline is regarded as an influential female voice in mid-20th century American country music, and her career ended when she died in a 1963 plane crash.
